Summer Highlights (so far)

The days have been flying by, since the boys are off of school. We had a number of family celebrations and the boys have been able to spend more time with their Grandparents and uncle, which they have enjoyed a lot.

Pruitt took a 3 day trip to Mymensingh with his Dad and had a great time. He rode around on a motorcycle, hung out with the staff there, drank lots of tea and ate one of his favorite Bengali dishes, fish. He came home glowing with excitement!

Riley has enjoyed having more time to play with his brothers. It's true that he has learned to read, but I don't think he was actually reading the book here. He tends to go go go until he crashes.

Jensen also took a trip to Mymensingh with his Dad. He enjoyed going to a party and doing work on the computer but his highlight was holding the baby of one of our producers at Sacred Mark.

And we've managed to take some time to hang out at the club. It's been great to watch the boys grow in their swimming abilities. Even Riley has now discarded his floaters and just the other day started doing flips under water. The water has felt extra good to them during the extreme heat of late. I've heard the heat is a 10 year record high for this time of year and the monsoon has been late in starting. We've had some good downpours just lately now so I think it is finally here.

Final School Daze, continued

We enjoyed Riley's musical as well. Here he and some classmates were dressed in lungis and sang a song about rickshaws.

Riley has really thrived this year. The sparkle in his eyes has seemed to sparkle all the more on days when he has been with his friends.

Here he is with his teacher and a couple of classmates.

And now school is officially over for the year and the boys are enjoying some relaxing days. Pruitt is currently on a trip to Mymensingh with his dad and it sounds like he is having a great time. The other two are enjoying each other too much at times, as they both know exactly how to push the other's buttons and each one quite enjoys it.

Final School Daze

The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of activity for the boys and I, as school was winding down for the year. Swimming galas, parties, programs, etc. made for a busy but very fun and memorable way to end a very good year of school. Jensen's class was studying the Victorian era and had a dress up day where they were supposed to be someone from that era. Jensen had been reading about a Liberian Prince, Kaboo, also known as Samuel Morris who, though he lived in that era, was not your typical Victorian. Still, Jensen was so amazed by his life and the way God rescued him from certain death that he decided to be Kaboo for a day and played the part from his heart.

We thoroughly enjoyed attending the celebration evening for years 1 -5. They sang some songs and each child was honored for something unique about him/her. In some schools it's all about academics and grades but I feel privileged to have my children in a school that is concerned about both academics and character. I got teary eyed more than once during the evening!

It's hard to believe the year is over already. It was a stretching time for all of us in a very good way.
